When did the 5G trial start in India?

The department of telecommunication of the Indian government has shown the green light to the 5G testing in India which is going to be a path breaker for the Indian telecommunication market. It’s going to run for 6 months from now. At the same time, Indigenous 5G telecom services are going to be preferred by some of the Indian companies that will eventually support Aatmanirbhar Bharat!

The surprising news is that India has made it clear that the Chinese company & technologies aren’t allowed to participate in this 5G testing and launching race which is going to be a great loss for China as India is one of the biggest consumer markets in the world. China has also expressed its concern and regret regarding the same.

Why 5G trial is getting so many negative comments?

It is clear from the past that human technological advancements are always done at the cost of nature and 5G is an example of that.

5G technology itself has lots of drawbacks like high energy consumption, expensiveness, increase in e-waste but the major problem is the radio frequency emission.

Following are the side effects of radiofrequency-

A . On ecosystem-

Although it’s going to make the world more vast and more advance, we can’t neglect the fact that it works on radio frequency (RF) that is an environmental pollutant & carcinogenic in nature and around 400 scientists & 1000s of doctors from all around the world have proven that RF causes cancer in experimental animals and humans as well. RF damages our DNA and the neurological system and has more adverse effects than we can even think of.

The Environment Health Trust (EHT), a non-profit think tank has done independent research on this and they advise us to control these health hazards that are caused by the technologies.

B. On humans -

Along with the above-listed hazard, it also affects the developing mind of children and the reproductive capability of humans that naturally damages the DNA of the foetus. Radiofrequency accelerates bacteria growth and it is scientifically proven.

In the toxicology letter, it is concluded already that radio frequency below the ICNIRP/FCC guidelines not only harms our eyes and skin but can result in:

• Carcinogenicity,

• Geno toxicities,

• Mutagenicity,

• Reproductive problems,

• Blood-brain barrier disruption,

• Sleep disturbance, headache,

• Irritability & fatigue,

• Concentration difficulties,

• Depression & dizziness,

• Digestive disturbance,

• Cardiac irregularities,

• Adverse impacts on the

1. neural,

2. circulatory,

3. immune,

4. endocrine, and

5. skeletal system

C. On insects-

It is harmful to the insects due to the unbearable resonance effect created by the RF and insects are a must to maintain the ecological balance, without them, the balance will automatically collapse.

D. On birds-

The migratory birds are the most vulnerable species as RF produces electromagnetic (EM) fields that can disrupt the birds’ orientation power. Migratory birds have magneto receptors that help them to identify and locate their paths for locomotion and migration. Magneto receptors of birds are like their biological compass. But due to EM fields, those receptors get disturbed and birds lost their original path which leads to their death ultimately. This can be felt by almost everyone that we nowadays don’t see many sparrows as compared to the days when the internet wasn’t there.

Not only birds or migratory birds, even the animals like dogs, cows, and mice get affected in the same way. Just imagine living a life without any direction and path!

Is Covid -19 second wave related to 5G?

This is a topic that is currently viral in India and circulating everywhere on WhatsApp without any legitimate proof and anything without proof is nothing but a baseless rumour. In the same way, this news is also fake. There is no relation between 5G and covid! So don’t fall into these fake news' traps.

Which telecom operators are going to run 5G testing in India?

The applicant TSPs include:-

• Reliance JIO Infocomm Ltd.,

• Bharati AIRTEL Ltd.,

• VI ( formerly known as Vodafone & Idea),

• MTNL and

• BSNL.

These companies except JIO had tied up with the original equipment manufacturer companies like Ericsson, Samsung, Nokia and C- DOT for the equipment and in this also Chinese companies like Huawei and ZTE had been kept out of the list.

Bharati AIRTEL Ltd. Is saying that they had already run a 5G testing in Hyderabad and it was a success whereas Ambani’s Reliance JIO is opting for Indigenous 5G technology which is somewhere slow but a smart plan.

For the companies like MTNL and BSNL who are way behind in the race as compared to the other telecom companies, it’s a great opportunity for them to make a huge comeback in the market and regain its lost value and losses.

How 5G testing takes place?

5G is the latest up-gradation for broadband technology, so it’s obvious for a country like India to start investing in this sector.

5G has 3 types of band spectrum namely- low, mid and high-frequency spectrum and they have their own applications and drawbacks. The testing will be done for 6 months in which the initial 2 months will be utilized for the setting up of the equipment and the trial will be done in all regions from rural to urban so that the flaws can be known at an initial stage.

In the early segment, a low band spectrum test will take place followed by the mid and high-frequency spectrum. Since the low-frequency band provides the promising speed with the highest coverage to the consumers so it can be used for domestic purposes.

Whereas the mid-band is for companies and industrial purposes as it has a low coverage area with higher internet speed and the high-frequency band has the highest speed with the least coverage area so it will be used by some reputed organizations.
